Heritage Volunteers

The Arts Society Heritage Volunteers help to conserve our heritage both in Britain and in parts of Europe.

The Arts Society Weybridge had about 15 members who volunteered to help.

Currently (January 2019) our members are preparing a memory trail at St. James' Church, Weybridge, which can be used by dementia sufferers with the help of their carers.

The Arts Society Weybridge formed an association with Elmbridge Museum and it was hoped to develop the relationship further. Volunteers have helped with a variety of projects, including the making of padded coathangers for the textile collection, scanning and cataloguing photographs, and beginning the process of auditing architectural plans. As of November 2009, there have been logistical problems in developing the association with Elmbridge Museum. An alternative possible arrangement elsewhere is being investigated. Details to follow.

As of November 2015, Carol Guthrie approached Painshill Trust with a view to spending the 2015-6 allocation of funds (about £500) on tree planting on the site.
