Heritage Volunteers

Most Art Societies have teams of volunteers who work under the guidance of curators and other professionals in their local area from, Church Recording (introduced 45 years ago, and so far nearly 2,000 records have been made and are held at the V&A Museum and Historic England) to the conservation of books, textiles, archival listing, projects in historic parks and gardens, helping to conserve and protect the nation’s heritage.

Some projects are short term, others may be on-going, and since its foundation 20 years ago, a team of TAS Weybridge members have volunteered at Elmbridge Museum working with textiles and cataloguing photographs. More recently our Society has made donations to Painshill Park Trust towards the planting of trees at the newly restored Temple of Bacchus and in 2019 to Weybridge in Bloom for planting schemes to enhance the local area.
